Datamax was formed in January 1993 to provide Washington DC metro organizations with full service computer network and software solutions. Though small compared to the big system houses, Datamax' strength rests on solid product knowledge and nimble responsiveness to the rapid changes with technology.

Our current focus is LAN to Internet integration, providing the hardware and software tools to make it all come together. Much of our time is garnished with evaluating emerging software and hardware. It is a full time job just sorting through the hype to discern vaporware from workable solutions.

Our offices are located in Falls Church, Virginia right at US495 and Rt7. We are a fifteen minute drive from downtown Washington D.C. Our facilities hosts approximately 10 Microsoft and Linux servers with a full Point-to-Point T1 connection, a computer assembly and repair workshop along with a state of the art computer demonstration room.

Some of our clients include law firms, government intelligence agencies, associations and lobbying organizations. What attracts these clients is our ability to customize technology that is cost effective, to their specific needs. Whether the requirement is upgrading an existing LAN, providing full Internet access or software development and training, Datamax knows the current technology to implement a viable solution.

We envision our role in today's world of automation as almost that of a construction general contractor. An architect or developer comes to us and says "we want to build this, here are our specs". We then assess the job, figure out what we can do in-house and sub-contract out the remaining tasks. This type of development and implementation requires more project management skills than anything else.

The value Datamax adds is assistance with an informed choice and excellent after-market support. Servers, individual PCs, components and/or software programs can be viewed and bought as commodities, but having them all work together is an art form. Most clients have common and unique requirements with automation. Our fundamentals are problem solving, product knowledge and hand holding which almost every client requires.
