Broadband Solutions

Datamax doesn’t sell bandwidth, but we have worked with almost every major ISP in setting up WAN/LAN connections. Over the years, we have setup everything from shared modem dialup ISDN, DSL and Frame Relay. These days we do pretty much DSL or Frame Relay.

We act as an objective consultant with a client in selecting the best type of connectivity for their needs and their budget. We are big proponents of broadband and believe that even small offices should have fast Internet connectivity. It is as necessary as a phone line and a fax machine. However, we are aware of the recent telecom fallout and its propensity to oversell (Not everyone needs a T3 at their desk).

We can assess a business client’s needs and propose a cost effective solution from several ISPs. Factors that make this decision are varied depending on that client’s requirements. For example, do they want to run an internal mail server or just use a simple POP3 account on the outside? Do they plan to be sending large files to their clients? Is there a good amount of information research conducted on the Net? Only after these types of questions are asked do we make a recommendation.

We have also saved clients money by finding for them a better bandwidth price. Bandwidth prices keep dropping but ISPs don’t always pass the savings down. We alert the client to what the current market prices are for bandwidth. We saved one client thousands of dollars this year alone by switching their T1 to another ISP (They didn’t realize they were paying twice the current market rate for a PTP T1 line).

We consider ourselves TCP/IP experts (the protocol the Internet runs on), so we offer a broad range of expertise. We have done everything from configuring routers to diagnosing slow connections since we first started working on the Internet in 1994. We have seen it evolve from a geek novelty to a critical business tool.
