Cabling

Cabling is an overlooked yet vital component of any network. It is the hard skeleton of the LAN. We can provide one or two drop add-ons to several hundred drops with fiber optic backbones.

We have wired dozens of schools who took advantage of the Universal Services subsidy for wiring schools to the Internet. We have also wired several Associations, Law Firms and hotels, either upgrading them from an old cable plant or installing one for new offices.

Our offering is simple because we offer estimates on a “per drop” basis. After a site survey, we break the costs down by the cost of a drop times the number of destinations. Let’s say you have ten offices and we say the drop cost is $175, then the total cost will be $1750. This includes the patch panel, patch cable, wall jacks and long cable. There are no other hidden charges.

We have also installed fiber optic cable which is a must for connections longer that 300 feet or a 100 meters. We understand the delicate nature of fiber and install it with the utmost care.

Network cabling brings up the corresponding need for switches, hubs and transceivers. We are very knowledgeable on all these network components and can offer high performance yet cost effective solutions. For example, the price of switches these days makes the purchase of any hub unwise. Switches provide faster and more intelligent routing of network traffic. A few years ago switches were far more expensive, but now, their costs are almost parallel.
